On Natal Astrology

It is not uncommon for people to consult an Astrologer when facing breakdowns in their lives.
In my 6 years of work in this domain, I see lots of people coming to an Astrologer expecting the consultation to be a be-all-and-end-all of their current troubles and problems. I used to believe this as well.
At some level, Astrology can definitely offer solutions. Working from this space, the Astrologer claim the power of ‘guruship’- one who is able to provide answers and the ‘truth’, specifically in the domain of life and living (eg. Whether I’d be in a happy and fulfilling relationship, how can I get what I want etc.)
As I dive deeper and deeper into this body of work, I find myself moving away from this modus oprandi. In claiming that I have the truth about you and that I have the ‘answers’, what I take away is the 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠. This is not the Astrologer I want to be.
Beyond telling you your personality types and claiming to know your psyche, I’d like to propose the natal chart as a gateway to understand how individuals take on the role of the Observer.
