Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn and Aquarius- January to February 2022

Yes, we are starting the year with a Mercury Retrograde. Sorry folks!

This Mercury Retrograde will happen between 24° Capricorn to 10°Aquarius. As such, it will affect selected planets in Cardinal (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) and Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius); particularly in the above-mentioned degrees.

Because Venus is currently retrograding in Capricorn, there are some overlaps between that and the Mercury Retrograde of the moment. So the Capricorn themes around structure, boundaries, deserve-ability, and rules would be highlighted this period.

Some things of interest in this particular retrograde:

1. Capricorn is pretty structured as a sign, so this Mercury Retrograde, in my opinion, screams of ‘planning’. Since we are at the start of the year, if you haven’t planned what you want to achieve for the year or if you have some structure already in place, this is a good time to rethink, relook and replan.
2. Also, Mercury would also retrograde in Aquarius- a sign of technology, science, community. Again, from my observer, this is ‘bad’ news in the era of interconnectivity and Zoom meetings. So, if you’re doing anything online, be sure to have some backup plans. I, for one, am feeling like my Wifi issue at home is something to seriously take a look at.
